Victims View
(i.e., Jews, Britain, US, Homosexuals, Gypsies, Jehovah Witnesses, the Mentally/ Physically Handicapped, etc)
By all accounts, when the first antisemitic, which means anti-Jewish, decrees were issued in April 1933, most Jews had immense difficulty realizing and understanding what was happening to them. They had become the victims of racial cruelty. And it was not only the Jews who were affected. Homosexuals, gypsies, Jehovah Witnesses, and the mentally and physically handicapped had the same problems. Many fled Germany for safety, but most didn’t, and they faced the horrible treatment from the Nazis, which of course, Heinrich Himmler planed. Nazis primarily hated the Jews and wanted to exterminate this race. All of these people lived in fear and hatred of the Nazis and their plans. Himmler's absolute cold-bloodiness toward different groups of people, but mostly the Jews, is most openly showed in this quote:
"You see, I did not deem myself justified in exterminating the men... while allowing their children to grow up and avenge themselves on our children and grandchildren. The hard decision had to be taken--this people [Jews] must disappear from the face of the Earth."
Up to this day, people, mostly Jewish, still live in loathe and anger for what their families in previous generations had to bare; the wrath of Heinrich Himmler, and all of the horrible things he did just because they were different.
